Edinburgh University Men's Rugby Club Algarve Sevens Elite Team

This summer our rugby club has been invited to represent Scotland (as its premier rugby university) at the Algarve Sevens, an extremely famous and prestigious Rugby Sevens tournament that has the aim of becoming the best sevens tournament in Europe within 3 years. The elite tournament this year, in which our 1VII will be competing, consists of 4 international teams, as well as the Aviva Premiership side Worcester Warriors. An invitation to a tournament of this calibre emphasises our growth once again over the past year as a rugby club, and our future ambitions. However, to be able to take our strongest side to the tournament the EURFC is seeking some sponsorship.

We intend to take 35 boys to the tournament with 10 players competing in the Elite tournament, and 20 players (competing in 2 teams) playing in the Open tournament. This means a lot of exposure for the Edinburgh University teams, and, as a result, anyone sponsoring them. Alongside the tournament, there are also numerous parties and events going on for supporters, which attracts the crowds in the thousands so your logo will not be short of exposure opportunities, and will be seen internationally.

Each player is currently looking at around £150 return flights, as well as 198 euros for their time in Portugal (which includes B&B accommodation, transfers etc) and expenses for food etc. So we are looking for any funding possible to be able to get this cost down as much as possible to be able to take our strongest team to the elite tournament.
