Bristol Thunder Korfball Club

Korfball is a mixed team sport (so very social but also competitive) where the aim is to get the ball through a basket. This may sound like netball and basketball, but there are no set positions so everyone gets to score and defend. We are called Bristol Thunder and we train at St Mary Redcliffe and Temple school (5 minutes walk from Temple Meads station), every Monday and Wednesday evening 7.30-9 (just Mondays in summer) followed by a beer, cider, wine or lemonade (whatever takes your fancy) in the pub. Over the Winter we play in local and regional leagues, whilst in the Summer we play regular outdoor tournaments across the UK. In the summer we also play Softball in the Bristol Softball league on Tuesday nights. We are a friendly and sociable club. We are always on the lookout for new players and beginners are very welcome. In fact, the majority of our club joined as complete beginners, so feel free to come along and give korfball a try!

We have around 35 members but we’re always on the look out for more so please come and have a go! We have a very experienced group of players who will help newcomers get into action straight away.
