Help Team GB get to the 2019 Underwater Rugby World Champs
Hello! We're PURE underwater rugby (UWR) and we're the UK's first UWR team. In case you're unfamiliar, UWR is a cross between water polo, rugby and free diving and we've been playing at Putney Leisure Centre, London, since 2014.
From just 3 people we've since grown to more than 20 and have also spawned a women's team based in Cheltenham. In May 2018, we took 3rd place at the Coupe de Gascogne international tournament in Bordeaux. Now our sights are set on making it to the World Championships next year in Graz, Austria. To do so, we're looking out for sponsors who can help us with:
1. Training venues: we need pools 3.5 - 5m deep to train. There are few in London and they're expensive to book. Currently, we only train once a week for an hour.
2. Recruitment efforts: We need more players to make sure we have the best talent for Team GB next year, and so there's sufficient cover for injuries.
3. Travel: To prepare for the world champs, we will be attending various tourneys around Europe. Many of our players are students and could use a helping hand.
4. Kit: We need new fins, snorkels and masks so more beginners can try out the sport.
A £500 sponsorship would go a long way to helping us with solve these problems. In return, we can provide the following benefits:
- Logo placement on our kit and banners at events/competitions
- Social media posts on Facebook (928 followers) and Instagram (282 followers)
- Promotion of your products (e.g. masks, fins, swimwear, sports nutrition) to club members and newcomers
- Press mentions in interviews with media
- Collaborative content for your marketing campaigns
